The Go Anywhere Jeep Cherokee The name is Marc Grobe and I am the sole owner of a 1998 Jeep Cherokee (XJ). Her name is derived from an old pickup my father had. My family had many fine memories camping in the original Sweet Pea. So with those memories in mind I annointed my Jeep, Sweet Pea. Of course her factory Moss Green color helps cement the name. Speaking of my father, he is my mechanic (Monkey Wrench) and spotter on the trail rides. This is more than the average father-son relationship. Since the age of 12, I have been a longtime sufferer of arthritis. It has caused me to go from a normal running little kid, to a walking teeneager, to a wheelchair bound twenty year old. Fortunately in my late twenties I had a series of operations that allowed me to walk and more importantly drive again. So after a fair amout of physical therapy I went and custom ordered Sweet Pea from a local Jeep dealer. As a younger man I had done a limited amount of off-roading, so I knew that the Jeep would be more than a mall crawler. True to my intentions I have been off-road numerous times over the years and the XJ has seen a ton of upgrades. Some of the upgrades have been out of need, some have been for the challenge. Regardless of my reasons I am totally happy with what I have done so far. It has provided my father and me a bond and sort of a window back in time when we used to be in Scouting together. So as much as he complains about my projects, I know he enjoys the challenge as much as I do. Sometimes even more than me as he often is the source of inspiration. But I digress, if you have any questions about any of my modifiactions, feel free to e-mail me. Once in a blue moon I am on MSN Messenger, so you might catch me there as well. Happy Trails! -Marc- E-mail: marc @ this-domain-name.us (grobe.us)
