Camp Jeep 2005 - Pocono Mountains, PA
Day 3 - Sunday - 10:00 AM - Trail B
The third day of Camp saw us going on what was to be a pretty
challenging trail in Trail B. Every time we went offroad about 30
minutes into it my right arm/shoulder capsule would start pounding
like a Heavy Metal Drummer. I was getting quite a workout on these
rock laden trails. Now I have been on rocks similar to this before, but
not soooo much. I was the only Cherokee on this ride that I saw,
although there might have been a Trail Guide in one in the rear.
I had a very nice couple behind us in a stock Rubicon that was wisely
taking the easier bypasses whenever possible, which I didn't. I ended
up with a small dent on the left side of my rear hatch from smacking a
tree. Other than that noting else got dented. Once again steering was
a bitch and I occassionally use the ARB when I thought it would be
needed. Fortunately I was gentle with the stupid pedal and nothing let
loose in the drivetrain. But the same can't be said about my water
pump. The pulley on it got noticably wobbly on this ride. So instead
of pushing my luck I exited at the first path to the access road, which
I believe everyone else did as well.
